Advertising & Sponsorship Disclosure

Last updated: May 2, 2026

Why this page exists. Health-content trust depends on knowing who is paying for the content. The honest answer for CareCost Estimate is short and worth saying out loud: nobody from inside the drug ecosystem is paying us to say anything. Below is the full statement of how that works.
As of May 2, 2026 CareCost Estimate accepts no compensation, free placement, sponsorship, "preferred-program" arrangements, or affiliate fees from drug manufacturers, payers, pharmacy benefit managers, specialty pharmacies, or patient-assistance foundations whose programs are surfaced in our calculator or referenced on our content pages. Our entire revenue comes from the healthcare practices that subscribe to the Service.

What this means for what you see on the site

  • Drug-and-coding reference pages. Which drugs we cover and what we say about them is determined by reader demand and editorial priority — never by a paid arrangement with a manufacturer.
  • Patient-assistance program rankings. When the calculator surfaces a list of programs (manufacturer copay, foundation grants, free-drug PAP) for a given drug, diagnosis, and insurance type, the order is determined by clinical match and benefit-eligibility match alone. A program does not appear higher because its sponsor pays us — no sponsor pays us.
  • "Preferred" or "recommended" labels. When we use those words, they describe what payers or guidelines say, not what we have been paid to say.
  • Outbound links. Outbound links to manufacturer pages, foundation pages, payer policies, or government resources are non-affiliate. We receive no referral or per-click compensation. The only reason we link to a third-party page is that it is the authoritative source for the fact we are asserting.
  • Programmatic ads. The site does not carry programmatic display advertising, sponsored content, or "advertorial" placements.

What we do accept

  • Subscription revenue from healthcare practices. See Pricing for current rates and the Terms of Service for our 30-day-notice commitment on any pricing change.
  • Standard third-party operational services we pay for — analytics, hosting, payment processing, email delivery. These are vendors we pay; they do not compensate us.

If this ever changes

If CareCost Estimate ever begins to accept any form of paid placement, sponsored content, manufacturer- or payer-funded research, affiliate revenue, or "preferred-program" arrangement, this page will be updated to disclose it before the arrangement begins influencing what users see, and the affected pages and product surfaces will be marked. The disclosure will name the sponsor, the scope of the arrangement, and the editorial firewall (if any) governing the relationship. We will not retroactively re-label the past as paid; instead the change will take effect prospectively from the date this page is updated.

Editorial reviewer disclosure

Our named subject-matter expert, Catherine Rose, CPC, lists her current and prior employment on her profile page. She does not personally hold a financial relationship with any manufacturer or payer of a drug surfaced on this site beyond ordinary employment compensation. If that ever changes, her profile and any affected reviewed pages will be updated.

Programs we surface, and how to update them

Manufacturers and patient-assistance foundations whose programs are listed on our drug pages cannot pay us to change the framing, ranking, or visibility of their program. They can — and should — submit corrections to eligibility rules, maximum annual benefit, open/closed/waitlist status, or other published values. Send corrections to editorial@carecostestimate.com; they are reviewed against the source hierarchy described in the Editorial Policy. Corrections are not paid placement.

Why we publish this page

Healthcare publishers routinely disclose advertising and sponsorship relationships when they exist. We are publishing this page to be explicit about the case where they don't. Readers, billers, and reporters checking this site can rely on the statement above for as long as it appears on this page; if the date at the top of this page is more than six months old, the statement is still in force unless and until this page is updated.
