CareCost Estimate is a working tool for specialty medical practices: an interactive copay-and-cost calculator for buy-and-bill drugs, paired with a library of billing-and-coding reference pages for the J-codes practices touch every day. Practices use it to set patient expectations before treatment, to check their billing against current CMS guidance, and to find the patient-assistance program that actually applies to a given drug, diagnosis, and insurance type.

CareCost Estimate is a paid subscription product for healthcare practices. During our private beta the price is published as $89 per seat per month (full-cost paid plans take effect at general availability). Founding-practice annual subscribers receive a published 20% discount that we have committed to honor; the full pricing-change-notice commitment is in our Terms of Service.
This is the entirety of how we make money. Specifically, we do not accept compensation, sponsored placement, free placement, "preferred-program" arrangements, or affiliate fees from drug manufacturers, payers, pharmacy benefit managers, specialty pharmacies, or patient-assistance foundations whose programs are surfaced in our calculator. The order in which programs are presented to a user is driven by drug-, diagnosis-, and insurance-eligibility match alone. The full statement is on the Advertising & Sponsorship Disclosure.
Pricing fields are derived from CMS authoritative files (the ASP Pricing File at the active CMS quarter, the NDC-HCPCS Crosswalk, the HCPCS Long Descriptors, and the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule). Drug labeling is sourced from the FDA via openFDA. Commercial negotiated rates, where available and where the contract sample meets our minimum threshold, are drawn from payer Transparency-in-Coverage Machine-Readable Files published under 45 CFR Part 147. Patient-assistance program data is sourced directly from manufacturer and foundation pages and re-validated on a published cadence. The full sourcing description, the source-conflict hierarchy, and our update cadence are in the Methodology and the Editorial Policy.
We serve: licensed healthcare professionals at specialty practices, infusion centers, and revenue-cycle teams — billers, coders, patient-financial-services, and the clinicians who set patient expectations.
We are not: a medical-advice service, a claim-adjudication system, a coverage-determination engine, a prescriber decision-support device, or a consumer financial-advice product. The full scope and the regulatory framing — including how the Service is designed to qualify as non-device clinical decision support under Section 520(o)(1)(E) of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act — is in the Methodology.
Estimate calculations run in the user's browser; benefit inputs and drug selections are not transmitted to our servers unless the user explicitly saves an estimate to their practice's account. We do not store Protected Health Information. The full statement is on our HIPAA Compliance page and our Privacy Policy.
